What is YTD on My Pay stub?

When you are looking over your pay stub, you have likely noticed YTD at the top of the pay stub. YTD stands for Year to Date. Pay stubs not only break down your monthly finances, but also give insight into your yearly data as well.

When people are looking at their finances and considering new jobs based on pay, you look at the total amount made in one year. Yearly salaries are a great way to gage how much money you are making. YTD is a great way to continually watch that number grow on your pay stub each month.

YTD explains how much money you have made year-to-date. For example, this number starts over at the beginning of each year. Your employer sets up the pay stub to restart over each year. The number will continue to grow throughout the year.

YTD is given to you to help you gauge how much money you are making throughout your year and how well you are reaching your goals.
